Super Junior’s Kyuhyun reveals photos of his fan-made lunch

Super Junior‘s Kyuhyun recently left a proof shot of his fan-given lunch box via Twitter.

On November 9th, Kyuhyun tweeted, “Filming for ‘RS’. With yummy bibimbap for as many as 100 people. I’ll eat the delicious meal and film [the show] well.

In the photos, Kyuhyun smiles brightly for the camera while holding the photo card included in the lunch, as if to show his approval for the bibimbap, fruit, and snack-filled meal.

B.A.P.’s New EP Will Feature THREE New Singles

bap_pacific_tour

TS Entertainment announced that they’ll be moving full steam ahead with B.A.P.’s new EP, launching three new singles, the first of which is set to be released later this month, on June 28th. Since their last EP dropped in June, the boys have been very busy on their world tour. While no release date has been given for the EP or the second and third singles, it’s likely they’ll drop sometime in mid-July.

TS Entertainment revealed, “This hasn’t been an easy decision to release triple title tracks, as B.A.P is only just in their second year since their debut. But they hope to show a variety of musical genres through their new album, and the members are certain that their new songs will be well-loved by fans.”

B.A.P Tour Receives “Shocking Amount of Attention” Says Billboard

bap_pacific_tour

B.A.P’s international takeover appears to be sailing smoothly. Their “B.A.P Live On Earth Pacific Tour” touched down in four US cities (LA, San Francisco, Washington DC, NYC), shocking the U.S. Billboard with the brouhaha created by the rookie group. And it wasn’t just Billboard surprised by the boys’ success. Daehyun commented, “We received even more energy and positive feedback than we had anticipated.” The tour continues on in Japan, but here’s hoping the boys will return to the States soon! Clearly, they’re a wanted sixsome.

BAP Rocks MTVK Studio in New York City

B.A.P MTV K 1

In the idol group-saturated world of K-pop, six-member boy band B.A.P (Best Absolute Perfect) is a quickly rising star. Since their debut in early 2012, B.A.P, known for their powerful stage presence, socially conscious lyrics, and hip hop influences, has released a string of hit singles that earned them a passionate fan base both domestically and abroad. Coming on the heels of their latest single One Shot, B.A.P launched Live On Earth, an ambitious, four-city North American concert tour, the last stop of which is New York City.

Our friends at MTVK hosted an intimate live event with B.A.P before the group’s May 17th concert at Best Buy Theater, and DramaFever was lucky enough to visit their studio to watch the act perform and interact with a handful of lucky fans. You can watch the entire show, including the Q&A, a graffiti art experience, and an exclusive performance of “Rain Sound” on MTV K in the coming weeks.

B.A.P MTV K

We had the chance to watch the boys rehearse before the live webcast alongside some lucky VIP fans, 2 of which were DramaFever users! (Shout out to Daphnee and Aliyah!) The boys appeared very slim, probably exhausted from back-to-back concerts on opposite coasts of the country. They seemed to be intensely focused (perhaps even a little nervous) during their sound check.

But the streets of Times Square was filled with adoring and screaming BABYs (the official name of B.A.P’s fandom). Only a select few of them were lucky enough to enter the studio moments before the live broadcast.

The boys performed four songs: One Shot, Rain Sound, No Mercy, and their debut single Warrior to a crowd of very supportive and very loud fans. There was a lot of love in the room, with coordinated fanchants to boot, and I couldn’t help but dance along to the music. B.A.P tore up the stage–the rock and chiptune-infused No Mercy and relentless beats of Warrior seemed to resonate especially strong with U.S. fans.

BAP MTV K Ellie Lee

A special Q and A session moderated by the effervescent Ellie Lee took took questions from the studio audience and fans on Twitter. During the interview, we learned that while in New York, B.A.P shopped in Soho and ate at Shake Shack. Also, leader Yong Guk says that fans can expect studio recordings of their solo tracks “soon.”

When asked what his superhero power would be, Jong Up replied “teleport” so that when he returned to Korea, he could teleport back to New York for Shake Shack. Also when asked to say something to international fans, Jong Up wondered if fans knew of any good pizza places in the city. BABYs you know what to do. The boy sounds hungry–win him over with some food!

All in all, it was a music and dance-filled night, and I felt that I witnessed a very important moment not only in B.A.P’s career, but in the larger phenomenon of K-pop crossing over to the U.S.

Perhaps Leader Bang Yong Guk put it best. When asked during their interview which moment he thought was most special since B.A.P’s debut, he simply replied, “Right now.”

Indeed, Yong Guk. It was a special night.

B.A.P electrifies fans with their different endings for “Warrior”

Rookie group B.A.P‘s performances for “Warrior” has fans reeling from the powerful endings.

Each member has been delivering a different ending for each live performance. It began with the youngest Zelo, who displayed a scene of getting shot by the rest of the members. Next was Himchan who collapsed in the hands of leader Bang Yong Guk. During B.A.P’s fourth week of performing “Warrior”, lead vocalist Dae Hyun ended the performance while during the most recent live performance, leader Bank Young Guk himself delivered an electrifying ending.

B.A.P releases making-of footage from “Warrior” MV

There no doubt that B.A.P has shaken up the Korean entertainment industry with their explosive debut. Earlier today, TS Entertainment released a new video through their official Youtube channel, revealing the boys hard at work while shooting the music video for “Warrior“.

B.A.P’s “Warrior” causes minor stage collapse on ‘Inkigayo’

B.A.P is gaining a strong following thanks in part to their passionate choreography, but it may have proved to be a little too much for the ‘Inkigayo‘ stage.

On January 29th, the boys performed their debut stage on the SBS music program with their intro song, “Burn It Up“, and their title track, “Warrior“.

In “Warrior”, there’s a special move where everyone stomps in unison. The stage couldn’t handle the powerful move and it collapsed under leader Bang Yong Guk‘s feet. Thankfully, there were two layers to the floor and Bang Yong Guk was not injured.

B.A.P Turns Into “Badman” [TEASER]

I don’t think these guys ever sleep…

B.A.P, not long after the release of Hurricane, is coming back yet AGAIN with Badman. Their teaser features members Daehyun and Youngjae, with the majority of their faces covered with a mesh-like piece of cloth. Around their neck a striped material coils, which, to me, kind of resembles a certain flag that I know. With intense expressions and slightly heavy eye makeup, I think this will be another strong comeback. All in all, though, maybe they should rest every now and then… They’ve already proven their prowress in the industry, so what’s so bad about having a little vacation?

BAP Badman Teaser 1

This will be the group’s third mini album, and will be fully set forth into the interwebs on August 6th, at 12:00 KST. It will include prior releases like Hurricane and Coffee Shop, along with new tracks titled What’s Poppin’, Excuse Me, and Bow Wow.

B.A.P have released their new album jacket for their third mini album.

B.A.P’s new mini album is titled “Badman” and will consist of six tracks including “Coffee Shop” and “Hurricane”.

Their new album cover is using B.A.P’s Matoki character as a symbol on their cover.

The agency behind B.A.P say, “B.A.P’s ‘BADMAN’ will include songs that only B.A.P can show, and BA.P will be showing different sides of them that they did not get to show to their fans yet”

Adding, “B.A.P will be proving huge potential and talent that they have.”

B.A.P are continuing to promote their new album as well as playing out two more dates from their ‘BA.P LIVE ON EARTH SEOUL WANTED’ on August 17 and 18.

New interviews from the fascinating upcoming release The Actresses, which brings together six generations of Korean screen beauties including Kim Min Hee and Kim Ok Vin. Described as “sort of like a Korean, female version of Ocean’s Eleven,” with each actress playing a character with her own name, the viewer can never be sure where the line between fiction and reality is.

Too hot for TV? Korean makjang dramas are under attack by lawmakers in their homeland for racy subject matter and violation of Teenager Protection Time, Korea’s “Family Hour.” Bapjwo, a drama about an estranged couple that contained a scene of implied spousal rape, was particularly targeted. The story with possibly large implications for the future of Korean drama is here. Do you think these dramas go too far?

[News] PSY Stands at the Forefront of Korean Tourism

PSY
[News] PSY Stands at the Forefront of Korean Tourism
“PSY will headline Korea’s efforts to increase tourism by introducing popular travel icons. Users will be able to actively interact with the campaign by uploading their own unique contents on Wiki Korea, which will become an online database about Korea Travel, just like Wikipedia.”

Global sensation PSY and the Korea Tourism Organization(KTO) launched an interactive campaign that will encourage tourism in Korea. TV commercials were released on June 3rd that highlight popular Korean food and tourist spots, such as Samgyeopsal, Banchan, Bulgeum, Cosmeroad, Olle-gil, and Dongdaemun.

In addition to the TV commercials, the campaign also launched ‘Wiki Korea through KTO’s tour portal site ‘BUZZ KOREA’ (www.ibuzzkorea.com). The website shows 27 items(Yasik, Susansijang, Bungeoppang, Pageon, Banchan, Samgyeopsal, Jeonju bibimbap, Tteokbokki, surasang, Jagalchisijang, Temple Stay, Olle-gil, Georieungwon, Dolharbang, Minsokchon, Pocha, bulgeum, Garosu-gil, Hongdaeap, Cheongdam-dong, BB cream, Jeontongsijang, Cosme Road, Gangnam, chak-syat, Dongdaemun) and borrowed elements from the renowned internet encyclopedia, Wikipedia. Users can submit their own opinions and questions about each item in different formats – video, text, or photo. KTO will select 8 users who upload the best contents on the website and reward them by taking them on a 7 day 6 night tour to Korea accompanied by popular Korean celebrities. Other rewards include a Samsung SMART Camera or a gift set for those who aren’t able to make it to the top eight

“This Year, we are determined to introduce Korean tourist icons. They will highlight Korea’s spirit (Ki), entertainment (Heung), and heart (Jeong), which are key elements of Korean culture. I’m sure that they can be loved worldwide. KTO’s new ambassador PSY is a global super star. His songs ‘Gangnam Style’ and ‘Gentleman’ showed great global appeal, having over 2 hundred million views worldwide. We believe we can leverage PSY’s global popularity to effectively promote tourism in Korea; and hence, will use the TV commercials, which are starred by PSY, to grab the attention of our global audience,” Charm Lee, CEO of KTO, said at a morning press release on June 3rd.

Over the past years, KTO hasn’t been afraid to use different strategies with its advertisements. In 2010, KTO selected Yong Jun Bae, a famous Korean Actor, to appeal to Japanese tourists. The next two years, Korea chose ‘2PM’ and ‘Miss A’ due to an increase in popularity of K-pop. Last year, the ‘Touch Korea’ campaign starred by actress Se-Young Park was nominated as one of the top 10 consumer-favorite advertisements by Singapore’s mass media group ‘MediaCorp’. Moreover, according to the ‘2012 Korea Tourism Advertising Effectiveness Survey,’ the rate of positive responses reached 86%.

“We will differentiate our strategy by connecting TV commercials and online promotions together in order to effectively engage users to learn about and visit Korea, said Charm Lee.

[News] SHINee’s Key Confesses He Has His Eyes on a Female Celebrity
SHINee’s Key revealed that he has his eyes on a female celebrity.

The members of SHINee participated in the recent filming of JTBC’s “Lee Soo Geun’s High Society” where the show’s hosts asked, “Which female idols do you want to invite to your dorm?”
On this day, Key chose Davichi’s Kang Min Kyung. He reasoned, “I recently saw her advertising an electric shaver and it drew my attention.”

Infinite’s Sung Kyu also shared his pick after some hesitation. He chose Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon and explained, “We’re from the same hometown (Jeonju), so we can talk about our hometown while eating bibimbap.” [Jeonju is well known for bibimbap, which is a rice dish with vegetables and possibly meat.]

Inside The B.A.P Live On Earth Concert In NYC

B.A.P Photo

We previously took you on an adventure with B.A.P at the MTVK studio here in NYC. Now I’ll tell you what it was like at the concert! Friday May 17th the Best Buy Theater in Times Square hosted the B.A.P Live on Earth Tour. People slept on the street overnight, arrived super early in the morning, and camped out in their best B.A.P inspired outfits. The line wrapped around the block with security closely monitoring in case of line jumpers. Good thing my friend @OfficialPimpTOP and I knew a few awesome people at the front of the line who saved spots for us! Thanks guys!

B.A.P Fans

Once inside we headed to the floor and were so close to the stage! The venue is pretty small, and to be honest B.A.P needed a larger stage to really get crazy with their choreography. Unfortunately there were way too many people. I thought being pushed into the rail practically bruising my rib at the BIGBANG concert was bad, but that had nothing on the B.A.P crowd. There was so much pushing, even moving an arm was impossible. I felt like a packed sardine, it was hot, and I was paying more attention to trying to stay alive and not falling than the actual performance because that’s how bad the pushing was. A girl fell in front of me and I felt bad for two seconds until she decided to fall five more times after that. Also my friend and I noticed she had no shoes on which was just adding to her stability failure. We were being sprayed with water by security, security was pouring cold water into people’s mouths to keep them hydrated, and even Himchan was on stage telling the crowd to move back.

B.A.P Concert

Beyond all of the issues with the crowd, B.A.P was amazing! They looked exactly the same as they do on TV, their outfits were everything, and their performance was totally on point. If you asked me if I would go again I’d say yes, as long as the venue was larger! I was barely able to take photos, but my new friend Autumn who flew in from Canada, and @OfficialPimpTOP were able to snap some awesome pics to show you all!
